Tartarus (formerly known as Silent Akbar) is a 1.6-2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration created and hosted by Riot. The level is designed to be almost humanly impossible and was therefore openly hack-verified by Riot to challenge the player community: whoever could verify it would receive a shoutout (and other unspecified prizes) from Riot. Three players made significant progress on the level: Mullsy, Dolphy, and MetaManRB. It was ultimately verified and published by Dolphy on January 6, 2020.[1] The prize was invalidated for a short time due to Riot's YouTube channel being terminated; Riot now has his channel back up but is yet to give Dolphy the prize.

Now renamed "Tartarus", Riot began uploading the first preview on November 1, 2017.[5] The second preview was uploaded on December 1, 2017.[6] Out of thin air, on January 27, 2018, Riot made a video about the announcement of Tartarus being complete. The level was openly verified with hacks and uploaded for open verification. He stated that he wanted to "challenge the community", explaining that whoever could verify this level would receive a shout-out and other numerous prizes from him.[7]

ToshDeluxe (Toshey in-game) is a popular and questionably skilled Dutch player and level creator in Geometry Dash. He became popular due to his numerous recordings of impossible demons and levels known as "sh**ty levels", which are basically levels (sometimes nerfed versions) without the decoration. However, he has been criticized by several players for click-baiting and hacking impossible levels to get more views on videos about levels than the original creator/verifier ever got. Currently, he has been accused of hacking several of his supposed extreme demon achievements by several notable players such as DiamondSplash,[1] Sonic80, and Technical49 in an exposing video. He has attempted to respond to the accusations on October 25, 2018.[2] 2ff7e9595c
