Thermo Scientific's OMNIC Series software features visualization, data collection, processing and analysis tools that considerably extends the capabilities of the OMNIC Software Suite for performing time-based experiments that include TGA-IR, GC-IR, SPR and FT-IR and Raman kinetics studies.
The OMNIC Series software includes several specialized 2D and 3D display options that can be used to reveal information on even the smallest molecular transformations. The fully configurable data visualization tools offer complete control over viewing and data interaction, considerably simplifying the process of working with very large data sets.

The OMNIC series software is a fully integrated add-on application and provides access to the extensive set of data processing and analysis functions performing calculations on whole time-series, or just an individual time profile or spectrum. Furthermore, the unique one-click spectral search feature in OMNIC Series, coupled with Thermo's extensive spectral libraries collections, makes it easy to identify material components from a chosen FT-IR or Raman spectrum within the data set.
It is extremely important that operating system software, application software, web browsers, and all browser plug-ins are always kept up-to-date. In an effort to protect all computers on the Boston College network, Information Technology Services may revoke student network privileges if virus software and all necessary updates and patches are not installed.
Read&Write software for Mac, Windows, or mobile apps (Android Tablet & iPad) supports students with reading, writing, studying, and research. After downloading the software, your documents, files, and web pages will be more accessible. Functionality includes a read-aloud feature, highlighting, speech maker, and more.
Oracle SQL Developer software allows you to work with an Oracle database and is available on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Oracle SQL Developer and Oracle Client are made freely available by Oracle with no license restrictions. Oracle has granted BC permission to distribute the software to BC affiliations without going through Oracle.com:
Alertus is automatically installed on BC-owned computers. It is also available to download for faculty, staff, and students on personally-owned computers. If you download the software, you will be responsible for keeping it up-to-date. Software updates will be posted on this page when available.
PerkinElmer has led the way for over 25 years with powerful Software and Informatics Solutions. Use the links below to quickly find your software solution download. Then, to download and run your software:
The Colorado School of Mines has access to many software titles. That software is available to the Mines community in accordance with the license agreement for each package. The ITS Software Index was created to organize and catalog software and license information. (It is also available as a Knowledge Base article, if you prefer a spreadsheet-like format.) Click on a link below to see available programs.
Much of this software is found in open computer labs around campus. For specific availablility see the ITS labs software web page. Individual academic departments, research centers, and institutes may also maintain labs with specialized software for use by people associated with that department or center.
A small number of other software programs, including Matlab, SolidWorks, Mathematica and MathCAD have been licensed by ITS and are available for download at no cost to Mines faculty, staff, and students. Visit their individual information pages by following the index links above for instructions on downloading and installing.
Licensing restrictions vary by product. One typical restriction is that the licensed software only be installed on a Mines-owned, campus-located machine for use by the Mines community in support of instruction; under such a license the software would not be available for installation on personally owned machines, off campus machines or in support of commercial activities or funded research. Some licenses are more liberal; our antivirus software is available, without charge, to faculty, staff and students for home use and on personally owned machines. Some licenses are more restrictive or may have a cost to the end-user attached to them. Check the ITS Software Licensing document for a more detailed explanation of licensing services, scopes and types. The summaries presented are intended to be a concise outline of our understanding of the major points of our licenses, but do not override any legal documents that are in place.
ITS manages many dozens of different software products and we are updating the Index as quickly as we can. If the specific product that you are interested in is not yet licensed, please let us know via the Mines Help Center. We may be able to add that software to future lab configurations.
The University of Iowa negotiates with vendors to make software available to the campus community for discounted rates or, in many cases, for free. Review the software grid below to find the best software option for you. Review "additional details" to learn more about each software.

The Office of Information Technology has obtained multiple software site licenses to ensure students have the tools they need for their coursework. The listed software products are supported by OIT and are recommended for all students.
Note: While OIT provides support for the software packages listed above, certain issues may be referred to an outside vendor (including operating system repair). Please note that there is no affiliation whatsoever to OIT with these Service locations and users can choose to seek laptop repair from anywhere else not referred.
CAE has dozens of industry standard Engineering software packages and many productivity tools on CAE lab computers. Below is a breakdown of where these titles are located. The columns labeled Windows and Linux refer to machines located in CAE labs. The XenApp column are titles that are available via remote access called XenApp. Finally, the Install column is a list of software titles that can be downloaded and installed to your machine.
The OMNIC Atlμs 7.2 software (Plate 1) now provides a complete imagingsolution for infrared and Raman microscopes with the addition of contentanalysis of both video and chemical images for particle dimensions and advancedimage statistics. Images can also be reproduced through the added ability topull information from the software's history, allowing users to easily recreatean image from raw data and processing steps. Spectral statistics allow users togroup spectra and perform advanced statistics, as well as employing principalcomponent analysis to minimize the spectral contribution of undesired featureswhile improving the signal to noise and the spatial resolution of the overallset of data.
OMNIC Atlμs 7.2 is fully compatible with Thermo's OMNIC software suite. This suite provides advanced chemometrics, rigorous qualification tools andextensive spectral libraries for getting the most from infrared and Raman data.
